Brass items can be cleaned at home easily with the help of special purpose cleaners available in the market or with household items such as tamarind, Vinegar or tooth paste using a soft cloth. Once cleaned, allow it to dry for some time. To keep it shining at all times, do clean the brass items regularly.

Pure brass items tend to oxidise with time. Slight change in colour (to brown or black) is not considered as defective.
